Guests arrived at historic Union Station, a Beaux Arts landmark designed by the same New York architects behind Grand Central more than a century ago, and checked in like travelers about to leave their ordinary lives behind. After a ceremony tucked quietly behind the station, Sam and Meagan and their closest loved ones boarded a chartered Adirondack Railroad train where cocktails were poured in the open sided Bar Car, leaves flickered gold outside the Dome Car windows, and dinner awaited in the Dining Car after a pause in Remsen to breathe in the early autumn air. Each table opened a dumpling box filled with handmade ceramic train whistles, a small and perfect reminder that love, like a train at dusk, is both departure and return.
