Rustic Weddings
Melissa and Motoy began their October wedding day tucked into an Airbnb with handwritten vows and mothers fastening necklaces, before stepping into the vaulted beauty of St. Cecilia Church in Boston. By evening we were at Harvard Fruitlands Museum in Harvard, Massachusetts, the hills washed gold, glasses raised beneath a glowing tent…..
On a high field at Coolidge State Park in Plymouth, Vermont, with Killington Peak rising steady in the distance, Emily and Dan gathered a couple dozen of their favorite humans beneath the open pavilion and said their vows against a backdrop of wind-tousled grass and early fall Green Mountains.
The Montague Retreat Center is a former farm turned spiritual haven rooted in decades of contemplative practice and community living. Carly and Akiva gathered their people here this summer to honor both Jewish ritual and Buddhist intention.
Alissa and Pete’s August wedding at Farm Road Estate in West Dover, Vermont was the kind of day where your cheeks hurt from smiling and maybe also from weeping a little bit over wildflower arrangements and vows….
Matt and Mara’s spring wedding at Farm Road Estate in Vermont had it all: wildflower-lined woods, a canoe cameo, and a cake filled with Lucky Charms. These two wanted the day to feel natural, unscripted, and above all, fun. So instead of stiff poses, we embraced flying veils, high-speed ring bearer pursuits, and spontaneous moments..
My favorite detail: Not only did Bessie illustrate so many of the signs and labels throughout, but I received a thank you card with an original sticker sheet with Bessie’s character creations
I’ll never forget: How sweet and laid back this pair and their crew were, the whole day through.. just enjoying every minute with everyone that showed up
I swooned over: The way this family property was transformed into a magical boho event space, from the vintage furniture and rugs to the enormous grassy floral arrangements leading the way for guests to enjoy their drinks, smokes, dancing under the tent or a walk around the pond. This was my second wedding at this home (nicknamed “Whiskey Rock”) and it has only gotten more enjoyable over time
I swooned over: The fact that the ceremony was literally on top of a mountain- everyone took gondola rides to the peak and the view was absolutely stunning!
My favorite detail: The Ben & Jerry’s ice cream cart
My favorite detail: The mixture of vibrant floral prints worn by Sarah’s bridesmaids
I’ll never forget: The incredible hora that included EVERYONE - this is one of those families that will dance in circles all night!
From vintage bottles to dried oranges and lush ferns, Arielle and Charlie’s wedding at Valley View Farm exuded rustic charm in hues of white, orange, and yellow. Live plants as favors added a green touch and symbolized new beginnings for guests to take home….
The florals were like an enchanted jungle dreamscape: moss, glass terrariums, bowls of petals, and ombre flowers all over the chuppah…
Barn Weddings
After a cozy, pizza-fueled welcome dinner at the venue’s glampsite Friday evening, Hallie and James settled in for a weekend of hugs, dancing, and the natural beauty of the Catskills. Hallie got ready in the farmhouse Airbnb on the property with her closest people, followed by a sweet first look on the hilltop at Liberty Farms…
My favorite detail: It’s a tie between her bouquet featuring amaranth and wispy grass, and the lacy sleeves on Amanda’s dress. The two were such a gorgeous pairing
I’ll never forget: The “NBA Fashion Fits” style walk to the barn that the guys did before changing into their suits
I swooned over: How I felt like I was in a movie! This farm has been active since 1791. In every direction there’s a view: big barns, apple orchards, stone walls built using multiple historic techniques, and a backdrop of the Green Mountains. There is so much to see that you can take a self-guided historical walking tour or do an architectural scavenger hunt. I brought some vintage umbrellas for the bridal party during a drizzly group photo and they worked perfectly!
We swooned over: The simplicity in Marissa’s Gown and Elias’ suit. We were inspired by: The uninhibited love that we saw for Marissa and Elias from all of their friends & family throughout the day.
New York residents Kristen & Marco decided on Vermont as their wedding destination because they wanted a relaxed getaway where they could throw a big party and enjoy the beauty of nature…
It’s always so lovely to be back at the BARN at Liberty Farms and to see how each couple brings their unique style to this gorgeous property. Dan and Danielle celebrated their love on a day that felt relaxed and…
We had so much fun earlier this year capturing Kristin and Corey in their own neighborhood of NYC, so we knew it would be a blast spending the day with them in the Catskills at the beautiful BARN at Liberty Farms. The view of the mountains…
Casey & Levon's wedding felt inspired by the same things that bind them and their loved ones together: art, creativity, and fierce love. Casey is a singer, her sister a photographer (who has shot many of her incredible music videos!), and their father is in a band referred to as "a sonic and visual assault on the senses:" Bentmen. Every beautiful bit…
Emily and Dave grew up together, started dating at the end of high school, and even went to prom together! Their wedding day was as sweet and surreal as their love story with the view at The BARN at Liberty Farms, an old horse stable converted into a…
We were so excited for Alex and Felicia's day to finally come- a full year after their engagement session, when we wandered around the Boston Public Garden and the North End, and learned just how sweet and in love they…
George worked every night for six months to resurrect his dad’s old Trans Am, and on the evening he married Annika it carried them down a gravel farm road like devotion made visible, dust rising behind them like in a classic action movie with a whimsical love story. At Valley View Farm, traditions from Denmark, Lebanon, and the United States folded into one another as horses grazed in golden hour…
